Students learn basic anatomy and will begin to develop an understanding of the way a figure inhabits space; thus able to successfully reproduce this space in two dimensions. The goal of the course is to learn academic, realistic representation of the figure: Emphasis will be on accurately rendering the figure on the page in proper proportion. Students work up to developing a personal style within the confines of academic figurative art.
you did an amazing job with these pieces. Very precise copy of Yanik’s work, I don’t even know how you achieved that level of detail. I liked your own personal interpretation as well. It could have been more edgy since you were after recreating his style, however it stands alone.
Your master study is very accurate and I have admiration for those who love to render realistically. You had mentioned that the artist you studied from likes to keep the individual in his images anonymous or obscured by not showing their face so if you were going for that in your applied study, I would say to somehow incorporate that idea. Regardless if you were going for that ‘obscure’ concept, you definitely have the rendering skills down.
Your master copy looks almost perfect. The way you got all the highlights in looks beautiful. The master study is very nice as well. It would have been great to see how you would have done the study in full body.
Michelle is a great artist. The works she presented are very realistic. The feathering of the hair was amazingly detailed and true to life. She masterfully represented the original work. In her own depiction she shows a face, but the artist she studied only shows the back of heads, not a frontal view. The skin in the copied piece seems a little dark, but this is minor.
Nailed the whole project down! Very photo realistic with top notch tones. The study work seems out of place with the master work, since there is a face being shown, but overall its photo realistic just like the masterwork.
These are both so amazing! Every project I just keep getting blown away by your technical skill and rendering technique! I also liked that you showed the spectrum of your skill by rendering a figure in the Master Copy, then a face in the Master Study. Beautiful job as always!!!!
"Alternate Candy-O Album Cover" Of course, very arresting and meticulously accurate. The distinctive hard-edged aesthetic may limit its subject matter, but it does manage to fulfil all of the requirements of realism.
These drawings were beautiful. You really captured this artist work well, however i would have liked to see you continue with the theme of no face on your interperetation.
Master
ReplyDeleteExtremely striking
Near perfect render of the original
I can only imagine the time and effort that went into this work
Figure
Fine details, particularly in the hair, create a successful style match
Darks are very solid

ReplyDeleteYour study and appropriation are amazing, there are a few small details that I would have like to seen in the hand on the figure of your master piece.
